A great evening of music and fun!
    Soff singing
Soff says: “This is an evening of the music hall of old, meeting the new millennium! Instead of a starchy singer, in tight fitting corsets and oversized hat, of Music Hall days, you get me, a sultry singer in a more comfortable outfit and with an oversized bottom!
Mind you she and I are just as cheeky!”

The idea of The SoFF Music Sing series is a fun evening out for all ages to enjoy while being encouraged to sing along with song sheets and special guests of the show, plucked fresh from the very audience.

There will be chances to win prizes and a special prize for ladies to nominate a husband, son, father or even boyfriend for a segment of the show.

The entire evening will have a quiz running through it with clues within the songs for even more prize give always.

You should have face ache from smiling, laughing and singing by the time it’s all over!!!

    About Lauren Dalrymple
“A vibrant performer of lustrous textures and energy – imparts her own soul-jazz flavour and rich vibrato always pushing at the constraints of the pop-jazz techniques while holding the vibe!” John Fordham – The Guardian

“…She has the ability to hold an audience in the palm of her hand and keep them there”. Mike Flynn – JAZZWISE Magazine

British born of Guyanese parents, vocalist Lauren Dalrymple has been singing since the age of 8. Initially singing in choirs in venues such as The Royal Festival and Albert Halls, she continued on to Backing Vocals session work, before going solo at the age of 19.

Her brand ‘SoFF Music, Sistah of the Fuller Figure Music’, has encouraged the bringing together of audience and musicians and has successfully done so, mainly through SoFF Music jam session and SoFF Music Live Lounge which have run in London for 23 years.

“It’s not enough to sing at your audience. You need, when possible, to get them involved and 100% enjoy the experience they share right alongside you”.

If Laughter is the Best Medicine, the LPSO is just the tonic – they'll leave you in stitches!

The London Philharmonic Skiffle Orchestra is a breath of fresh air. In a world where everyone is frightened to make a joke, for fear of offending someone, The LPSO is in no risk of offending anyone, except those with no sense of the ridiculous!

The LPSO appeared at the Arts Centre last year and, just in case you couldn't believe what you saw then – they're back, more insanely brilliant before, with new songs, fresh fun plus one or two of the old favourites thrown in for good measure (although, some say they should have been thrown out!)

Maintaining the musical comedy tradition of Viv Stanshall, the Bonzo Dog Doodah BandSpike Jones and his City Slickers and, in more recent times, The Old / New Rope String Band and the Ukulele Orchestra of Great BritainThe LPSOmeticulously blend virtuoso musical performances with anarchic, absurdist comedy. Their performances are colourful, bizarre, tuneful and hilarious, incorporating a wealth of instruments, costume changes, and numerous outlandish props.

Most impressive is the group's seemingly endlesss energy and enjoyable enthusiasm to entertain and enchant. Their boundless exuberance and their skill and versatility of their musicianship drives the show forward and forward, and faster and faster, to a dafter and dafter comical climax, which will leave us all breathless with admiration.

The LPSO come to the Arts Centre, for one night only, fresh from playing London's Union Chapel, as part of a star-studded bill including Ralph McTellChas and Dave, The Jive Aces, Chris Difford & Billy Bragg, in the show A Night For Lonnie Donnegan, honouring the UK's Skiffle King.

As seen on Vernon Kay's "Five O'Clock Show"!
“I love your band – great fun!”  Rick Wakeman
“Great Night's Entertainment”  Jersey Arts Centre
The LPSO raised the roof....with laughter, insanity & a fantastic range of every type of music - & musical instrument - possible. The audience left with wide smiles & happy hearts saying:  "We haven’t laughed so much in years!”  Director, King's Theatre, Cheddar
“Who are you?” HRH Prince Philip

    Time: 7.00pm

    Tickets: £5.00 / Concessions : £4.00

    "Hireth"
(Cornish word meaning 'longing for home' )

A Film of the Theatre Show and the Making of a Documentary

1914. West Cornwall. Harry Elton is starting a new life below the ground mining for tin.

Across the channel, a great war rages.

When the British Army arrive with an unexpected offer, Harry and his friends swap the dirty, dark and dangerous tunnels of Geevor for the deadly underground warzone beneath the Western front.

‘You battle everyday with nature. You fight to drag minerals from the ground. You’re already fighters. You’re already warriors. Its time for you to lend those skills to the war effort’.

This epic production tells the untold story of Cornwall’s forgotten war heroes and the unique impact they had on the First World War.

Featuring a cast of professional actors and a community chorus, 'Hireth' marked the centenary of the end of World War 1 in the Grade-II listed St Just Miners’ Chapel in November 2019.

Cornwall World Heritage Site is delighted to support the showing of the Hireth film in communities in Cornwall and West Devon.

    A Cornish Carol poster

Christmas is upon us and business is booming in Ebenezer Scrooge’s Pre-Packaged “Proper” Pasty Production Company.
Costs are low, profit is high and the money is pouring in.

What’s that? The staff are exhausted? They want a day off? They can barely afford to eat?
‘Bah, humbug! You don’t get nothing for free in this life.’

Over the course of one miserable, mizzly, Cornish night, join miserly Scrooge and a gaggle of ghostly ghouls who force him to revisit his PAST(y), explore his (Ker)NOW and decide if his FUTURE will Come-to-Good.

From the team that brought you Trevithick, The Cornish Caretakers and HIRETH, comes this irreverent, new adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic.

Weaving physical comedy, music and gags a-plenty, A Cornish Carol is a festive treat for the whole family.

    David-Mynne - door knocker

Kneehigh Theatre favourite & co-founder Dave Mynne, last seen in Kneehigh's Fup, playing Grandad, now takes on Charles Dickens' perennial much-loved Christmas tale, A Christmas Carol.
    Joy to all mankind?
    Bah!
Spend an evening in the company of a mean, tight-fisted, squeezing, grasping, clutching old miser.
    Bah!
Watch horrified as Ebenezer Scrooge is haunted by four creepy ghosts(wooo-oooh) each one more terrifying than the last.
    Bah!
Sob at the bedside of a tiny, malnourished child riven with rickets.
    Bah!
In their inimitable style, the team that brought you Great Expectations, Dracula and The Odyssey (Greek stuff!) will now take you on a grim journey through the dark, dismal streets of Victorian London, where Ignorance and Want cower together.
This is Dickens’ original words with added silliness.
    Silliness?
    Bah!
Celebrate the festive season with a mesmerising one-man performance of Charles Dickens’ timeless, transformative story: A Christmas Carol.
    Christmas?
    Bah! Humbug!
Suitable for adults and older children (10+)
    Directed by Simon Harvey.
    Performed by David Mynne.
    Adapted by Andrew McPherson.
Additional script by Simon Harvey and David Mynne.
David Mynne is a Cornish actor and a founder member of Kneehigh Theatre.
A Christmas Carol was beautiful - apparently simple theatre with just one actor but you go home remembering a cast of dozens!
"He is a genius". Richard Wolfenden-Brown: Director The Plough Arts Centre.
