"Ar Log" Welsh Folk BandDafydd Roberts – triple harp, flute, whistles, vocals
    Iolo Jones – fiddle
    Geraint Cynan – keyboards, vocals
Geraint Glynne Davies – guitar, lead vocal
Graham Pritchard – fiddle, mandolin, vocals
Gwyndaf Roberts – knee harp, vocals

'Ar Log' was formed in August 1976 specifically to represent Wales at a Celtic Festival in Lorient, Brittany.
Following the festival, on the advice of The Dubliners, the band decided to continue to perform and earn their living through touring. The band succeeded in touring full time for seven years, spending nine months of each year abroad.

Since it was formed in 1976, Ar Log’s sets have followed the long folk tradition in Wales of performing songs in the Welsh language as well as reviving the more ancient tradition of performing instrumental pieces. The group feature the Welsh triple harp and the name Ar Log means ‘on hire’.

By 1982, Ar Log had become particularly associated with Dafydd Iwan, a long-standing figure in the Welsh national movement. In 1983, Ar Log embarked on its second tour with Dafydd Iwan and recorded their second album together.
The new anthem for that tour was Yma o Hyd which has recently enjoyed a huge revival and has become an unofficial anthem for Wales’ National Football Team.

The band has performed in twenty one countries across the UK, Europe and both North & South America promoting Welsh traditional music and songs.
During their tours, Ar Log have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the folk world, namely Alan Stivell from Brittany, Mary Black, De Dannan, The Dubliners, The Clancy Brothers, The Furies and Clannad from Ireland, The Battlefield Band, Boys of the Lough, Silly Wizard and Run Rig from Scotland and many ‘World Music’ artists from all corners of the globe.
Between 1978 and 2018 Ar Log released eleven albums and two singles.

“Ar Log is one of the most durable and best-loved Welsh folk groups. The band’s extraordinary level of musicianship and manly and sensitive Welsh language vocals… can all be experienced on their recordings.” Christiana Roden, music journalist, New York

Following Friedman's sold-out, 40th Anniversary Tour, Friedman returns to the stage armed with a stunning collection of his insightful and compelling, true-to-life ‘story songs’ - songs of pathos and humor that deal with family, friends, neighbours, work and the seemingly trivial, yet ultimately essential stuff of everyday life.

Dean has also published a respected tome on the art and craft of songwriting titled, ‘The Songwriter’s Handbook’, based on songwriting workshops and songwriting masterclasses. He’s conducted at universities and music conservatories around the world, including L.I.P.A. (the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts).

A consummate entertainer, Friedman will be performing solo, on guitar and keyboard, featuring songs from throughout his four-decade career, including familiar, radio hits and fan favourites, drawn from his eight studio albums.
