Stormbox Theatre Company is part of Cornwall Performing Arts and is dedicated to creating and producing a wide range of productions and performances giving our members a broad and exciting experience.We are looking for committed, passionate and dedicated people to come and make theatre with us!
This opportunity is open to all levels of experience - so whether you’re already a seasoned performer or have never stepped foot in a rehearsal studio, a warm welcome awaits!
Perhaps you are a college or university student looking to gain as much experience as possible, maybe you’ve been involved in community theatre for many years are are looking for a new creative challenge, or maybe you’ve always been an avid theatre lover and have always wondered what it might be like to tread the boards yourself - we want to hear from you!
We have opportunities for actors, singers, dancers and musicians to join our team.We have put on this workshop to welcome new members.
After this workshop, you will be able to sign up and join the company to work towards and take part in future productions, performances and projects.
Membership will require ongoing commitment to scheduled rehearsals and productions. At the workshop, you’ll get an insight into the creative process and take part in some theatrical activities such as warm ups, devising and script work.Being a member of this group is very exciting!

A young man who needs money dates an older man who has more than enough.
As their relationship develops it becomes clear that they have more in common than either realises, and that each can help the other to find a way forward.In the wake of the opioid scandal, this gay age-gap romance with an edge finds that there are many kinds of addiction.
The play is performed by Nigel Fairs and Langley Howard.
Nigel’s work includes Translations at the National Theatre and the recent Film : "In From the Side" as well as Silent Witness and Emmerdale.

(Tickets are non-refundable)A romantic, funny and very touching portrait of life during the Second World War featuring readings of letters between Oscar-nominated actress Celia Johnson (Brief Encounter) and her explorer and writer husband Peter Fleming (brother of James Bond creator Ian Fleming) who was posted to India and the Far East during the war working for Military Intelligence.
Not only are the letters highly engaging, but they also provide a fascinating historical insight into that time of true austerity and fearfulness.

The letters are read by their daughter Lucy Fleming (Love Sarah, Miranda in The Archers) and her husband Simon Williams (Upstairs Downstairs, Justin in The Archers, EastEnders) and give an insight into a young mother’s life coping during the war and tell of Celia Johnson’s experience of filming with Noel Coward, David Lean and her thoughts while making the classic film Brief Encounter in 1945.
