    Wilson & Wakeman

’Quite simply the most fun you can have with your clothes on’ -Prog Magazine

Two sublime musicians, with impeccable solo pedigrees, join together for what Mark Radcliffe (BBC Radio 2) describes as: “an evening of great musicianship, great singing, great songs and a great atmosphere – and you can't ask for much more than that, really!”

DamianWilson and Adam Wakeman have played some of the biggest arenas in the world, playing with some of the biggest names the Rock World has ever produced.  However, when they take to the stage together, they create an intimate and unforgettable evening of music with the layers of production and grandiose showmanship arenas demand peeled away to reveal the pure quality of their musical talents and the almost telepathic rapport Damian and Adam share between them.
Damian is a songwriter and vocalist who has appeared on over 70 separate album releases.  He is widely known in the rock genre, for bands and projects such as HeadspaceThresholdAyreon and Rick Wakeman’s English Rock Ensemble. As a solo artist, he has released 5 solo albums, a DVD and a retrospective compilation album. He also played the lead role of Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, on their UK National Tour.
Adam is known as the keyboard and guitar player with Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath.  He has also released 9 albums with his father, Rock Legend, Rick Wakeman as well as releasing 4 solo albumsAs a classically-trained pianist, his albums cross many genres and styles from classical, to rock.  He co-wrote the 2010 platinum selling album Scream with Ozzy Osbourne and has also toured extensively with TravisAnnie LennoxWill YoungSlash10CC and many more.

Their first joint acoustic album 'Weir Keeper's Tale' was released in 2016, but they've been working and playing together for a long time in bands such as Headspace and Rick Wakeman's English Rock Ensemble. Their second album ‘The Sun Will Dance In Its Twilight Hour’ was released in February 2018.  The following European tour resulted in a session album; 2019’s ‘Stripped '.

After the final show of their 2018 acoustic tour Damian and Adam decided to go into the studio for one day and try to capture the onstage chemistry of their live performances. They played through songs performed on their 27 date tour through Europe, which had a different setlist every night, and recorded everything.
Aside from stripped down versions of songs from their joint albums and both their solo catalogues, the album also contains a selection of cover songs that were part of the eclectic tour setlist, including Life On Mars (David Bowie) and Feel Like Going Home (Charlie Rich). The session was mixed by Gary Stevenson (ABC, Tony Hadley) and mastered by Brett Caldas-Lima (Ayreon, Devin Townsend).

Their show at the Arts Centre will feature Damian on vocals and acoustic guitar and Adam on piano, vocals and acoustic guitar. They’ll play songs from their individual back catalogues and artists they have worked with, along with tracks from their joint albums, intertwined with stories and memories from their extensive touring careers.

This is a rare chance to see such respected and talented musicians up close and personal, in such an intimate setting.
